I finally drove at Laguna Seca! So, my car has finally earned its forth and final sticker: |
On the bright side, at least you passed one of those snooty BMW drivers.
Sorry to hear you had your first offs at Laguna Seca, which is not the best place to go off, as you know. Which turns were your accomplices to your award, and how did your instructor feel about it?

I went off at turn 3 TWICE (the second time was only a little bit, but still) because it was wet there and I was stupid and kept getting on the gas too early.
But then later in the day (my last lap, in fact) I went off at TURN NINE at like a zillion MPH. That was quite exciting; I realized that I don't really have any car control skills above 60 miles an hour. So I have some things I'm going to do at buttonwillow to try to be a little more conservative. You ARE coming to buttonwillow, right?
Posted by: Rus at January 2, 2005 12:07 PMTurn 3 is not my favorite turn, and it's so easy to turn in early there, because it looks deceptively early.
I would have pooped my pants if I lost control at turn 9. There are so many things to hit near that turn, and I've witnessed people hitting things at that turn, too.
Glad to hear you're OK, though. Did you get to talk to Carl? 3 incidents in one day is kind of high. How did Nathan do? Did his brakes fall off or anything exiting like that?
